The ESGO Mentorship Programme is a 12-month structured initiative connecting senior leaders in gynaecological oncology with early-career professionals, supporting clinical, academic, and leadership development across the ESGO community.

Who is it for?

Mentees

You will gain personalised guidance, set and achieve SMART goals, strengthen clinical and academic skills, expand your international network, and grow into a confident leader.

Mentors

You will share your knowledge and experience, support the next generation of professionals, and contribute to shaping the future leaders of gynaecological oncology.

Eligibility

Timeline

Mentees

  • Active ESGO member
  • Under 44 years of age, in training or junior position
  • Active in gynaecological oncology clinical practice
  • Able to commit to regular mentorship meetings throughout the 12-month programme
  • Not a previous participant of the ESGO mentorship programme

Mentors

  • Active ESGO member
  • Senior clinical or academic leader in gynaecological oncology
  • Active in research, publication, and/or education
  • Able to commit to regular mentorship meetings throughout the 12-month programme

 

Note: Experience within an ESGO-accredited centre, active involvement in ESGO activities, research, education or other relevant professional activities may be considered when identifying and matching mentors but is not a mandatory eligibility requirement.

Programme structure

Duration: 12 months

Format: One-to-one mentorship (1 mentor per mentee)

Meetings: A minimum of 6 meetings required during the 12-month programme

Kick-off: In-person during the ESGO Congress

Participants: Up to 12 mentors and 12 mentees

Tracking & support: Meeting logs, progress reports, and structured evaluation

 

How to apply

  • Mentees: Complete the mentee application form, which includes submitting your CV and a motivation statement (max 250 words).

  • Mentors: Complete the mentor application form.

Applications will be reviewed and pairs will be assigned by the Mentorship Committee.
