The ESGO Examination in Gynaecological Oncology is a high-level assessment covering the entire subspeciality curriculum. It evaluates knowledge across surgery, medical oncology, pathology and radiation therapy.

 

Cesma Appraisal of the Exam

The ESGO Examination was appraised in 2026 by CESMA (Council of European Specialist Medical Assessment). This recognition follows an extensive external evaluation process and reflects ESGO’s commitment to maintaining high standards in gynaecological oncology education and assessment.

Who can take the exam?

The exam is open to all physicians involved in the management of gynaecologic cancers, including:

  • Fellows and junior doctors seeking to complement their clinical training.
  • Experienced clinicians aiming to obtain official certification, which is especially valuable in countries where gynaecological oncology isn't recognised as a formal subspecialty.

Assessment and results
