An exclusive 2,5 day course for surgeons with early experience in robotic surgery.

The course combines a hands-on workshoptheoretical lectures and live surgery transmission at the ORSI training centre in Ghent, Belgium.

The course is organized by ESGO in collaboration with SERGS, the Society of European Robotic Gynaecological Surgery.

 

Aim/rationale

The course aims to improve the knowledge and skills of surgeons on procedures in gynaecologic cancer by robotic approach (Da Vinci Si or Xi).

 

Target audience

The ideal profile of the course candidate is a young  surgeon with early experience in robotic surgery that meets the following requirements:

  • Has performed at least 10 robotic cases in Gynaecological Oncology (console surgeons)
  • A member of an active robotic program at his/her hospital
  • Fluent in English.

The candidates will be required to include in their application a letter of recommendation from their mentor/trainer.

Teaching Format

The robotic course is a 2,5 day workshop in Robotic Gynaecological Oncology Surgery, offering candidates a unique opportunity to enhance knowledge and skills, including:

  • Advanced Theoretical Lectures and Tutorial Videos
  • Training on Da Vinci Xi. Simulation, virtual surgery
  • Hands-on Training on live tissue - Animal Model
  • Dissection on Cadaveric Model.

Participation is compulsory throughout the course. The course will be conducted entirely in English.

Attendance to the course is limited to 12 participants, enabling 2 attendees to be around one robot during the hand´s on training.

Applications will be selected based on the documents providedwith respect to geographical balance of countries and regions as well as the level of experience judged by the committee.

The participants will be selected by the joint committee of ESGO and SERGS.

  • Successful candidates will be notified by February 15, 2020
Individual registration – ESGO/SERGS member  750 Euro
Individual registration – Non-member  1250 Euro
*ESGO is not a VAT payer

 

Fee includes:

  • Admission fee to the course
  • Accommodation for 3 nights in a single room in Ghent
  • Transfers to/from the airport and the hotel to ORSI
  • Coffee breaks, lunches and welcome dinner

 

Cancelation and Refund Policy

Before February 20, 2020*   Refund of 50%
Starting February 21, 2020**   Non-Refundable

 

In case of cancellation without replacement, the fee will be partialy refunded, provided a written request is received by February 20, 2020.

**No refund can be made if notice of cancellation is received after this date or in case of no-show.

Remarks:

  • If the fee is not received immediately after the candidate is notified on February 15, 2020 the position will be offered to the next suitable applicant.
  • The reservation can only be confirmed upon receipt of the course fee payment.
  • Should we receive a cancellation, wait-listed applicants will be contacted by the course Secretariat.

Travel costs to/from the aiport to the ORSI Academy, Belgium and to and from the hotel will be arranged, travel costs to Belgium are responsiblility of the attendees.

Accommodation

  • Accommodation for 3 nights in a single room in Ghent, Belgium, in a standard hotel in the vicinity of the course venue will be arranged by ESGO.
