The European Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO) is a not-for-profit association established in 1983.

 

Today, ESGO brings together a global community of over 3,000 members, early-career doctors, patient advocacy groups, centres of excellence, and research networks across Europe and beyond.

Mission

Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of women with gynaecological cancers through advocacy, prevention, research, excellence in care and education.

Objectives

Raise standards and harmonise training in gynaecological oncology

  • Establish structured training systems, curriculum, and fellowship programmes
  • Deliver high-quality education and training
  • Support training in limited-resource countries

 

Enhance gynaecological cancer management and standardise quality of care

Executive Committee

Provides the overall leadership and governance of ESGO, comprising of the President, Vice President, President Elect and Past President.

Policy Shaping Task Force

Drives ESGO’s advocacy agenda, supporting policies that improve quality of care and patient outcomes.

Accreditation Committee

Oversees ESGO’s accreditation programme, maintaining excellence across training centres and clinical practice.

Scientific Committee

Provides scientific direction and expertise across initiatives, including Database, TransLink and surveys.

IJGC Publication Committee

Ensures the scientific quality and the editorial integrity of the International Journal of Gynecological Cancer.

Guidelines Committee

Leads the development of ESGO’s multidisciplinary clinical guidelines, ensuring evidence-based, high-quality recommendations.

Congress Committee

Defines the strategic direction of the ESGO Congress – Europe’s largest gathering of gynaecological oncologists.

Training & Education Committee

Shapes ESGO’s educational strategy, including courses, webinars and eAcademy.

Prevention Committee

Leads initiatives such as publications, conferences and courses focused on the prevention of gynaecological cancers.

ENYGO Committees

Lead the European Network of Young Gynae Oncologists – covering scientific, online education, clinical education & practical skills and communication & social media.
