Course on Molecular Pathology and Targeted Therapy in Endometrial and Ovarian Cancer

Overview

Precision medicine is arguably the most important medical development in the 21st century. It allows for highly individualised treatment of patients, according to their specific biology, and can play a vital role in modern cancer treatment.

This innovative two day in-person course will focus on the molecular pathology of gynaecological cancers and how developments in this field have impacted on disease understanding.

Specifically, the course will provide an advanced exploration of molecular pathology and targeted therapies in endometrial and ovarian cancers. It will equip participants with the latest knowledge on molecular profiling and treatment decision making.

The course will be taught by leading international, interdisciplinary faculty, offering an integrated learning experience in this rapidly evolving field.

Target audience

The course is aimed at gynaecological oncologists, medical and radiation oncologists, researchers and other specialists seeking to stay at the forefront of precision medicine. It may also be of interest to gynaecological pathologists who wish to expand their knowledge of therapeutics.

Teaching format

The format will comprise of short lecture-style presentations, followed by interactive discussions. Additionally, molecular tumour boards will provide practical insights illustrated by case presentations and discussion.

Learning objectives

The course will enable participants to:

  • Understand tumour biology of endometrial and ovarian cancer
  • Acquire updated knowledge of molecular pathology of ovarian and endometrial cancers
  • Master biomarker testing and molecular profiling
  • Enhance treatment decision-making based on molecular profiles
  • Learn about novel molecularly targeted agents and immune therapy
