Overview
The Prevention Committee is a European network of leading experts and research teams dedicated to preventing gynaecological cancers.
The Committee is focused on fulfilling the prevention principle of ESGO’s mission, and comprises of experts in vaccination, screening, colposcopy and the treatment of pre-invasive disease. They regularly publish articles in various scientific journals and organise webinars and virtual conferences on prevention-related topics.
Mission
Our mission is to close scientific gaps by providing evidence-based guidance on preventing and treating pre-invasive disease. We aim to connect professionals across Europe, sharing ESGO’s expertise to support colleagues in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).

Objectives
- Drive systematic research, publish scientific publications, and share findings on preventing and treating pre-invasive diseases.
- Raise public and governmental awareness to advocate for the prevention and treatment of gynaecological cancers through ENGAGe.
- Collaborate with professional societies, patient advocacy organisations, policymakers and other stakeholders to advance gynaecological cancer prevention and care.
- To support the elimination of cervical cancer in Europe, aligning with the WHO elimination programme 2030.
- Help reduce mortality and extend the lives of patients, in line with the EU Beating Cancer Plan.
