HALF DAY TOUR OF BRUSSELS - ART NOUVEAU
Towards the end of the 19th century a group of architects, amongst
whom V. Horta H. van de Velde, E. Blerot,
P. Hanker etc, conceived a new type of architecture. This new style
has a conception of light and space according to the occupation
and the function of the building and has reached in Brussels a level,
which is unique in Europe.

HALF DAY TOUR OF BRUSSELS AT THE TIME OF LEOPOLD II
Following the footsteps of Belgium's famous town-planner and king-builder,
Leopold II, the visit takes you through the monumental ensemble
of the Cinquantenaire Park, built to commemorate the 50th anniversary
of Belgium's independence. The triumphal arch flanked by two short
colonnaded wings houses prestigious museums and also the Pavilion
erected by Victor Horta, which houses the haut-relief of the Human
Passions. The tour continues along the Tervuren Avenue towards the
famous Royal Museum of Central Africa. This architectural ensemble,
built under Leopold II, Brussels greatest town planner, is surrounded
by a magnificent French-style garden
Both tours will be departing from the Kenes International Hospitality
desk at the Congress Palace at 09:00 hrs. Approximate return time
is 13:00 hrs

FULL DAY TOUR TO BRUGES
Bruges is one of Europe's loveliest cities, a romantic open-air
museum of churches, elegant houses, famous canals and internal ports,
the one city in Belgium, which is an absolute "must" for
the visitor. The city houses three major Museums: the Gruuthuse,
the Groeninge and the famous Memling Museum, which is housed in
the former Hospital of St. John, dating from the Middle Ages.
Bruges, the principal center of Flemish art has kept its 14th and
15th century heritage intact. The medieval setting is an impressive
reminder of the financial and artistic power of the city in the
time of Philip the Good of Burgundy.
This full day tour is only able to operate with a minimum of 25
participants.
