As the voice of gynaecological oncology in Europe, ESGO’s mission is to improve research into the prevention, early detection, quality of life and treatment of women with gynaecological cancers.
In fact, ESGO is already helping to reduce mortality and increase quality of life through promoting good clinical practice, educating young medical professionals, and through therapeutic clinical trials.
ESGO co-ordinates clinical research trials through ENGOT, the European Network of Gynaecological Oncological Trial Groups. To complement its existing activities and make further advances through stimulating and facilitating a closer connection between the basic science and clinical practice, ESGO has also formed ENTRIGO, the European Network of Translational Research in Gynaecological Oncology. Furthermore, by providing Research Grants, ESGO works to facilitate research in gynae oncology, to enhance the mobility of investigators within different European institutions and to actively promote scientific exchange among research units.
