In collaboration with EBCOG (European Board and College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists), ESGO has set up formal guidelines for the Subspecialty Training Programme according to the European Accreditation in Gynaecological Oncology.
According to European Standards, ESGO runs accreditation visits certifying those European Centres in Gynaecological Oncology that train clinicians. Recognised centres are authorised to provide certified training of European Gynaecological Oncologists.
Up until January 1, 2010, ESGO will recognise retrospective training. Fellows clearly trained in accredited centres, even if their training started before the centre was certified, are eligible to receive an official certification diploma.
Trainees interested in accredited European training are asked to contact certified training centres directly. Training centres provide information about fellows under the European training to ESGO.
