Task Force Cancer in Pregnancy

Mission Statement

The Task Force promotes research on Cancer in pregnancy aiming to increase knowledge among health care workers and the public. Focus is not solely on gynaecologic cancers though all cancers are included. Collaboration with national or regional initiatives together with oncologists, obstetricians, paediatricians and other health workers is pivotal to improve the knowledge.

Objectives

The Task Force’s primary objective is to establish an international registry on cancer during pregnancy. Data we aim for refer to the oncological, obstetrical and neonatal setting. All cancer types (surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy) and treatments are included, including termination of pregnancy. In addition, this platform should generate idea’s and facilitate the search for collaborations.

Activities

Task force members are limited and should represent a country or region. This restriction is needed to enable efficient collaboration and cover a sufficient large area. After establishing a network of task force members, an international registry is constructed through an online registration form that is available through www.cancerinpregnancy.org. We plan a task force meeting on the 23rd of october 2010 during the IGCS meeting in Prague.
